Sixt Campout – 5-6 June

An early Saturday morning start saw 25 scouts along with 10 adult leaders and assisting parents meet up at Le Pelly campsite in Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval.

They immediately split into two groups: The first group consisting of more experience hikers  embarked on a six hour trek to La Croix de la Frête as part of their preparation for a multi-day hike in August. The second group headed out on a four hour hike to the Bout du Monde.

Once scouts arrived back at the campground, they set up tents and started preparing to go rafting on the River Giffre. Recent heavy rain made the rafting even better than expected.

After that, we returned to camp to cook dinner and enjoy a campfire with jokes, songs and marshmallows.

On Sunday morning after tidying up the campsite, we again split into two groups, one for Via Ferrata and the other for climbing for those wanting to do their Climbing Merit Badge.
