Troop 77 is Geneva’s first Scouting America troop and the oldest one still running in Switzerland. For more than fifty years, young people aged 11 to 17 have come here to camp in the Alps, paddle the Ardèche, learn first aid, lead their friends and earn the rank of Eagle Scout. Boys and girls are welcome, and so are families new to Scouting.

What Scouts do in Troop 77

Our story

Troop 77 has been part of Geneva’s international community for over half a century, chartered by Emmanuel Episcopal Church and part of Scouting America’s Transatlantic Council.

• 1969 — Troop 77 is already active in Geneva, making it the city’s first Scouting America troop.
• 1975 — The Troop’s first recorded Eagle Scout. Thirteen more follow in the next ten years.
• 1985–1994 — The Troop’s busiest decade for Eagles: 24 Scouts reach Scouting’s highest rank, six of them in 1993 alone.
• Through the years — Competitions with troops across Europe build a trophy case that is still part of the Troop’s collection.
• 2020 — The Troop starts a girls’ troop, which runs alongside the boys’ troop for five seasons.
• 2024 — Troop 77 becomes a single co-ed troop for boys and girls.
• 2025 — Four new Eagle Scouts, bringing the total past 70.
