Ardèche kayaking trip – 10-12 September

We’ve been to Ardèche for a campout and it was a great camping and canoeing weekend!
On the first day everyone came to the camping place in Saint-Martin. We spent a night there and had a lot of fun – it was a great camping, with two swimming pools and a nice climbing playground.

On the second day we left some of our things and some of our parents in Saint-Martin and went by bus to the river – it took us almost an hour to get to there. When we arrived to the starting point of our canoeing trip, we packed our things on boats and paddling started – the river and views along the way were stunning.

Our first stop was to have lunch, and after that we stopped a couple of times more, until in the afternoon we arrived to the second camping place right next to the river (Bivouac de Gaud). There weh ad a training on what to do in case of a capsize. After the training we put up our tents and started to prepare dinner. After dinner we went to the river for a campfire, where we shared jokes and funny scary stories, and then all went to bed.

The next morning we had breakfast, broke the camp, packed our tents, got into our boats and continued paddling. We were stopping on the way for lunch and for fun and in a couple of hours got to the end of our trip, where parents were waiting for us. It two days we made a total of 32km of paddling!

This was a great trip and we’re looking forward to doing it again next year!
