How To Build A Quinzee – Video
Inspired by the snow shelters he learnt about during recent weekend campouts, Troop 77’s Ben Landon decided to perfect his quinzee building technique on a personal visit to Kandersteg in the Bernese Oberland.
To show others how to build a safe and comfortable quinzee, he filmed the entire process from stamping down the snow and leaving it to sinter (or harden) to inserting sticks into the pile to make sure he didn’t dig out too much of the inside. And, of course, he slept in it too
