January 2025 – Klondike Derby

Written by Sebastien Burgess (Eagle Scout; Webmaster)

On 17-19 January 2025, Troop 77 participated in the Transatlantic Council Klondike Derby.

The event, taking place at the Kandersteg International Scout Centre (KISC) in the heart of the Swiss Alps, is a must for any scout, featuring many activities testing outdoor and leadership skills.

A starry night
Arriving at KISC

We never come home empty-handed, and this year was no exception; in fact, it was a sweep! We scooped up the most awards, at a sum of no less than nine, including second-place overall!

Following our recognition at the campfire for this brilliant performance, I was also recognised for having passed my Eagle Scout Board of Review, thus earning the Eagle Scout rank. I’d like to thank everyone in Troop 77 who contributed to making my Project a reality, and I’d wholeheartedly recommend taking on this meaningful task to everyone in this excellent troop.

We concluded the event with some sledging the next morning and a return home for some tired but proud scouts.

A victorious return home!

Well done to everyone who participated!
