Interested in Troop 77?
Intéressé par la Troupe 77 ?
Thinking about Scouting for your son or daughter? This short form simply lets us know you’re interested. It is not a registration, and there is no commitment. One of our leaders will get back to you, usually within a few days, and invite you to come and see what we do.
How it works
1. Tell us a little
Your contact details and your Scout’s first name and age. It takes two minutes.
2. Come and visit
We’ll invite you to a Tuesday meeting or an upcoming event so your Scout can try it out.
3. Decide together
If it feels right, we’ll help you with the actual registration with Scouting America.
Troop 77 is for young people aged 11 to 17 (or 10 after completing 5th grade or the Arrow of Light). For ages 5 to 10, see Cub Scout Pack 130 Geneva.
Under 18? Please ask a parent or guardian to fill in this form with you.
Privacy notice for the interest form
This notice explains how we handle the personal data you give us through this form, in line with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where it applies to you, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Who is responsible
Scouting America Troop 77 Geneva, Geneva, Switzerland. Contact: troop77geneva@icloud.com.
What we collect
About you as parent or guardian: your name, email address and, if you give it, your phone number. About your child: first name, age, the area where you live and any previous Scouting experience. Also anything you choose to write in the message box, the date and time you sent the form, and your agreement to this notice. Please do not include health or other sensitive information in your message; we will ask for what we need, in the right way, if your child joins.
Why we use it
Only to answer your enquiry: to contact you, invite you to a meeting or event, and help you decide whether Troop 77 is right for your child. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or add you to any mailing list without asking.
Who sees it
- The Troop 77 Scoutmaster and the Troop leaders and committee members who welcome new families.
- Service providers we use to run the website and email: our website host, and Apple (iCloud Mail), which sends and stores the Troop’s email. They process the data for us and only as needed to provide those services.
We do not pass your details to Scouting America or any other organisation. If your child joins, you will register with Scouting America directly, and their own privacy policy applies to that registration.
Data stored outside Switzerland
Our email and web service providers may store or process data outside Switzerland, including in the European Union and the United States. Where a country does not have data protection that Switzerland recognises as adequate, we rely on the safeguards required by Swiss law, such as the provider’s standard contractual clauses or certification under the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
How long we keep it
If your child does not join, we delete your enquiry within 12 months. If your child joins, it becomes part of your family’s Troop records and is kept only as long as needed for Troop membership. You can ask us to delete it sooner at any time.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to see what data we hold about you or your child, correct it, or delete it, and you can withdraw your agreement to be contacted. Just email troop77geneva@icloud.com. You may also contact the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), or, if you live in the EU, your local data protection authority.
